It is in the family that virtues such as unity,
harmony, fidelity, affection, true self-giving, stability, mutual understanding, and love
for God must shine.
It is from such
homes as these that healthy and balanced children are able
to grow. Healthy families are the key to building the
new civilization of the third millennium, based on Christian justice
and charity. This is how the Church is strengthened.
In effect, the family is a humanizing force in
society, capable of unleashing formidable energies that can pull man
away from the tendency toward anonymity in today’s big cities
and media-driven culture. The future of humanity passes through the
family.
