Regnum Christi is active in more than thirty countries, and its membership includes tens of thousands of lay men and women, as well as deacons and priests. Locally in the UK we have members throughout the country, but centralise our activities in London. The priest responsible for our spiritual direction is Fr Michael Mullan LC, based in Dublin Ireland.

Fr. Michael Mullan, LC, a priest of the Legionaries of Christ, ordained in Rome in 2005 and a native of the United States. Ongoing Initiatives and Information on Regnum Christi

Catholic Kids Net

For more information contact:  d.toledo@regnumchristi.co.uk

KIDS NET is a dynamic and attractive catholic Catechetical programme which aims to aid children (ages 8-11) boost their faith development in today's society.  Kids NET (New Evangelisation for the Third Millennium) is an international programme successfully operating in eleven countries.

There are two strands to Catholic KIDS NET.  The first strand is the formation of NET Teams where children have fun, learn their faith, and experience the joy of sharing it with others.

The second strand is the activities of the NET Programme.  The "NET Programme" aims to fulfil a specific mission: form in our children solid catholic principles and values that will be useful both now and in their upcoming adolescence. They learn to be confident in living their faith and share it with their family and friends.

Through the NET Programme children are challenged to learn a specific virtue. Their 'MISSION" is to practice daily that particular virtue.  As parents, you are challenged to encourage and help by motivating your children to complete their mission. This valuable tool helps children and parents to learn, live and share the Catholic faith.

The contents of each NET team session includes a theme which is the virtue of the month, mission of the month - daily practice of the virtue - this is the most important KIDS NET activity.  A catechetical lesson, a story from Jesus' life, with games/puzzles as complement to existing religious education to develop the faith of our children in a really practical way.

KIDS NET is currently running at Our Lady Queen of Heaven (4a Inverness Place, London, W2 3JF In Queensway) every first Saturday of the month from 10:45 to 11:45.   And it is commencing at St. Anne in Brentwood (East London) in February.

The Pilgrim Queen of the Family

The Pilgrim Queen of the Family apostolate is simply one amazing fruit of the Holy Spirit, uniting families through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother. It is an instrumental way for lay men and women to take an active role in their parish, supporting their clergy, religious and communities.

Our Blessed Mother makes her own pilgrimage to each home in the parish. In this time prayers are offered for family members, for friends and for vocations to the priesthood and Consecrated life. In many homes I have visited, parishioners have strengthened their devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe who shows us that the cleansing of body, soul, spirit — and culture — is indeed possible if only we turn to her.

It is with gratitude and love that I present this apostolate on behalf of the Regnum Christi movement to assist an increase in prayer throughout the United Kingdom. It is incredible how our love for Christ and for His Church can be used in this great way. Here is a resource that unifies, heals and embraces love, the most powerful virtue of all.

In order to gain a full understanding of this devotion, families throughout the United Kingdom have welcomed Our Lady in their home for one week. Three days of which consist of a special attentiveness of set prayers to Our Lady. The passing on of the shrine from family to family often takes place following mass on Saturday night/Sunday. Parishioners contribute to Our Lady’s pilgrimage by selecting significant dates during the year, for example wedding anniversaries, birthdays, examinations – medical or academic, the death of a loved one and feast days. These dates are written in a diary at the back of church and the pilgrimage is co-ordinated by a lay member of the parish. This person is known as the ‘guardian’ of the Pilgrim Queen shrine, anyone can do this.

As an Affiliated Parish family we commit ourselves to

1  Pray the Holy Rosary together as a family
2. Invite other families to pray the Holy Rosary
3. Love the Pope and collaborate with the bishop and parish priests
4. Welcome life
5. Promote vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life
6. Give testimony of Christian love: “Look how they love each other”

“Man, in every society or culture, proceeds always from a family, an environment and place where he feels loved as he is; the nucleus of every society. At the present time, families from all around the world ‘shout’ as never before to reclaim unity. And looking at the world, we see it offers few means to ‘unite’ the family. Therefore, families that with that unity take advantage of the few concrete means offered by the Church to keep the family united in a world where some try to destroy it at all cost.”

Diana De Lobo International director of the Pilgrim Queen.

It is the hope of the Regnum Christi members in England that we achieve the ideal model of circulating the shrine as stated on the Pilgrim Queen website http://www.pilgrimqueen.org . Due to our culture here in England and nature of this important apostolate, introducing Our Lady of Guadalupe to families not use to such a devotion within their homes has been an important first step for all of us.

To receive further information, obtain a shrine and support for this apostolate please contact Mags Reilly, National Director of this apostolate for the United Kingdom.
