Fr. Eduardo Robles-Gil, L.C.


The General Director of the Legion of Christ is Fr. Eduardo Robles Gil, LC.

Fr. Eduardo was born in Mexico City on September 18, 1952.  He became a consecrated member of Regnum Christi in 1975 and joined the Legion of Christ on August 6, 1977.  He was ordained a priest on August 20, 1983.

Over the years, Fr. Eduardo has exercised ministry as a superior of the Regnum Christi consecrated mens’ house of formation in Madrid, Spain, as well as superior of the Legionary communities in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in Vina del Mar, Chile, and in Mexico City. He has served as director of 2 schools in Mexico City, as a director of a women’s section of Regnum Christi, as spiritual advisor to several communities of consecrated women of Regnum Christi, and as local coordinator of apostolate in Mexico City.  He also served as territorial administrator of the territory of Mexico and participated in the founding of the Legion and Regnum Christi in Brazil.  In 2011, he was named to the Outreach Commission created by Cardinal De Paolis to attend to the abuse victims of Fr. Marcial Maciel.   In 2011 he was appointed assistant to the territorial director for religious life in Mexico City and was named the territorial director of Mexico on August 1, 2013.

On January 20th, 2014, the Extraordinary General Chapter elected him General Director.  Pope Francis confirmed his election on February 6th, 2014.
