Legionaries of Christ ordination: Saturday, December 10, Basilica St John Lateran, Rome

Three dozen Legionaries of Christ will be ordained to the priesthood on December 10, at the Basilica of St John Lateran in Rome. Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Vatican Secretary of State, will preside over the ceremonies.

You can read testimonies of the soon-to-be priests (currently transitional deacons), view photos and learn more about the event and vocations to the Legion of Christ at the special ordination website. The website also offers you the opportunity to sign up to view the live video broadcast of the event. And you’ll want to return to the website after the ordinations for more coverage.

As the deacons prepare for ordination, we can accompany them with our prayers. You may enjoy praying the novena prepared by Carrie O’Connor, a consecrated woman of Regnum Christi and sister of one of the Legionaries to be ordained, Deacon Michael O’Connor LC. As Carrie wrote to the deacons:

“I gathered different sources to make it something that would both evangelize and catechize those who don’t know much about the priesthood, and touch the hearts of those who do, to help us all be spiritually prepared for the great gift that you, and we, will receive on December 10.”
